LoRaWAN in automation - AMC solutions with iFactoryX for entry-level, on-premise and cloud
Wireless data transmission over long distances is becoming increasingly important in automation and measurement technology, as the installation and construction of infrastructure are becoming increasingly expensive. This is where LoRaWAN, a wireless network protocol developed for wireless data transmission over long distances and with low energy consumption, comes into play. It belongs to the category of Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technologies and is particularly suitable for the Internet of Things (IoT).
Before implementing LoRaWAN-based automation solutions, there is often a need for clarification regarding possible transmission distances and the associated questions of data throughput and transmission reliability. AMC offers to record, investigate, and document transmission and reception conditions at customers' sites to more accurately assess the influence of industrial or urban infrastructure or even natural conditions and to make informed decisions about future projects. AMC provides all the technology for such wireless surveys, and the acquired data and information are delivered in a results report. Based on these results, recommendations can then be made for the selection and installation of gateways and end nodes. AMC can also optionally offer a detailed requirements analysis, the development of concept proposals, and proof-of-concept (PoC) studies based on such an investigation.
