With the C32, Spectra introduces a compact serial device server that seamlessly integrates existing RS-232 and RS-485 applications into modern Ethernet and WiFi networks, thus creating the foundation for scalable, future-proof automation solutions. Users benefit from rapid migration, reduced installation effort, and the ability to monitor even hard-to-reach devices at all times. The C32 allows for connectivity via either Ethernet or wireless WiFi. This is particularly advantageous for decentralized systems, enclosed control cabinets, or machines with restricted access. A physical connection on-site is no longer required for many applications. Two serial interfaces can be configured as needed: 2× RS-232, 1× RS-232/1× RS-485, or 2× RS-485. This versatility facilitates the adaptation and expansion of existing systems without the need to integrate additional hardware. Thanks to its compact design, the C32 is ideal for confined installation spaces and retrofit projects. The extended temperature range of -40 °C to +75 °C, along with 4 kV insulation and chassis grounding, ensures reliable operation even under harsh industrial conditions. Setup is performed via a web-based interface directly from the workstation. This saves time during commissioning and reduces on-site service calls.
