LS Link Link Conveyor System
LS Link is designed to transport workpieces in automated assembly and packaging lines. Thanks to its drive concept, it is winning over users wherever the application demands precision and short transport times. The reduced complexity of the system and high reliability ensure high productivity and economic efficiency. At approximately 60 cycles per minute and a movement time of under 0.2 seconds at feeds up to 200 mm, LS Link is fast and efficient. At the same time, its positioning accuracy is +/- 50 μm due to its planetary gear. In combination with the servo motor, the fast transfer system is extremely versatile since any position and any feed can be approached. This increases its adaptability to the higher-level assembly line and to the customer application.

Automation components for workpiece transport
When automation components can be combined with each other, this reduces the engineering effort, significantly shortens project runtimes, and the start of production can take place sooner. Not only can WEISS products be combined, they can also be easily integrated in the overall system as functional subsystems. Linear Transfer Systems from the LS Series are used as the basis for such subsystems. They are designed to achieve linear, continuous assembly processes in a tight space. At the same time, the LS Linear Transfer Systems are the perfect platform for other WEISS components such as HP Pick & Place Modules, Delta Robots, Rotary Indexing Tables, or Linear Axes. WEISS works in close coordination with system integrators, machine builders and users when engineering these functional subsystem solutions. WEISS solutions are mechanically matched to one another from the start. At the software level, the W.A.S. Control Packages ensure that components can communicate with each other and be integrated at any time. The packages are compatible with one another and, because of different interfaces, with the higher-level PLC too.

HP Pick & Place Module
For high-speed installation, the HP 70 Pick & Place Module from WEISS demonstrates its strengths with a maximum speed of 4 m/s. The working space is relatively large thanks to the horizontal stroke of up to 325 mm. In combination with an acceleration of 40 m/s2 and short cycle times, the high-speed motions exert high loads on the cable connections and the cable conduit. This is why WEISS has optimized this module. From now on, a flat ribbon cable will protect the media hoses. This cable combines four pneumatic lines and four signal lines. It is considerably more stable under motion, quieter, and less susceptible to wear. The automation specialist tested the new assembly in endurance tests over a period of several months. The module consisting of flat ribbon cable including the eight media lines is available as an option or spare part. Any HPs already in use can be retrofitted by WEISS Service. The compact module is a mere 60 mm wide and weighs only 9 kg. The 70-mm vertical stroke never extends beyond the body of the component. It is produced using kinematics. This eliminates vertical linear motor movement – a major benefit in the cramped conditions of assembly lines. The Pick & Place Module is designed to save space and is able to map different process stations in a very confined area. This creates a functional subsystem, especially in combination with WEISS rotary indexing tables or linear transfer systems. It is integrated into the system as a whole using the plug-and-work principle. HP 70 features free programmability. The WEISS Application Software W.A.S. helps with integration. The control package simplifies programming and operation. System operators and users do not require any in-depth control knowledge.
