Hybrid cable One Cable Solution OCS - Connected at a distance
STOBER has further developed its One Cable Solution (OCS) in cooperation with encoder manufacturer HEIDENHAIN and launched the next generation on the market. With the future-proof HEIDENHAIN EnDat® 3 protocol, the new hybrid cable can reliably connect motors and drive controllers at a distance of up to 100 metres. The user receives a complete system consisting of synchronous servomotor, cable and matching drive controller. To connect a motor to a drive controller, two cables are usually used: one transmits the encoder data, the other the electrical power. With OCS, a hybrid cable takes over both tasks. With small weak points: If the encoder and drive controller are further than 15 metres apart, the data can no longer be transmitted without interference. In this case, one output choke per cable becomes necessary. This component is expensive and requires additional space in the control cabinet. Since chokes generate heat, appropriate cooling is required. STOBER has solved these problems in cooperation with HEIDENHAIN: They have further developed the already existing STOBER single-cable solution and optimised it especially for highly dynamic applications in drag chains.

Rack and pinion drives from STOBER – From full rotation into linear motion
With the innovative concept for rack and pinion drives, STOBER has developed a compact, easy-to-use system with process reliability that is precisely tailored to applications in machine tools, automation and robotics. By combining it with STOBER’s planetary or helical bevel gear units and directly attached servo motors, users receive a wide variety of compact, highly dynamic drive solutions from a single source. The complete gear units are ready for immediate use and no assembly work is required at all.

STOBER goes PROFIdrive and PROFIsafe
STOBER has enhanced its SC6 and SI6 series drive controllers with additional PROFINET functions. Thanks to the redeveloped SU6 module, the controllers offer an attractive solution for STO and SS1-t via PROFIsafe. In the area of motion control, STOBER now supports a wide range of application classes in accordance with the standardized PROFIdrive device profile. A highlight: The communication interfaces of the drive controllers are now also PROFINET-certified.

E stands for economy
STOBER has developed its planetary gear units of the PE series – where E stands for economy – even further. The user gets an extremely economical variant of the STOBER planetary gear unit with significantly increased performance and typical STOBER helical gearing. This gearing ensures low noise development and optimal smooth operation. This is a unique feature on the market in this price and product class. Combined with the STOBER IE5-class Lean motor with direct attachment, the user receives a drive that is economical, while still being extremely energy efficient.

None are more compact with this versatility: Planetary servo geared motors.
With the new generation of planetary servo geared motors, STOBER has developed drive solutions that are the most compact on the market in terms of versatility! Benefit from a 65% increase in power density and – by leaving out a motor adapter – get the most out of the dynamics of your drive.

Planetary gear units paired with highly efficient helical bevel gear units. When the motor gets in your way: Right-angle planetary gear units.
Our premium planetary gear units paired with our high efficiency helical bevel gear units. The result: STOBER right-angle planetary gear units! If the motor in coaxial design represents an interference contour, the combination of a STOBER planetary gear unit with a bevel gear unit is the best choice for the highest demands on dynamics, backlash stability and robustness.

Designed to be absolutely practical: Helical bevel servo geared motors.
In this series, helical bevel gear units and synchronous servo motors form a compact unit featuring very convenient installation dimensions and a high power density. The result is an extremely wide range of efficient design options for the packaging and machine tool industries as well as for automation and robotics.

Everything from a single source
The STOBER drive system consisting of gear units, motors and drive controllers has a modular design and is freely scalable – for tailor-made, compact and powerful machine concepts. It can therefore be adapted to your individual requirements and combined as needed in nearly all industries and application areas.

SX6 safety module – Level up Your Safety!
Safety at a new level. With the 6th generation of its drive controllers, STOBER offers innovative solutions for the increasing demands in automation and mechanical engineering. With the SX6 safety module, all STÖBER drive controllers can be used in safety-related applications up to SIL 3, PL e (Cat. 4) in accordance with DIN 61800-5-2 and EN ISO 13849-1. The module monitors movements, reliably guides axes to safe states and can be seamlessly integrated into EtherCAT-based automation systems via the integrated Fail Safe over EtherCAT (FSoE) interface. Many ways to achieve machine safety. The SX6 enables the classic stop functions Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1) and Safe Stop 2 (SS2). A special highlight: with multi-axis controllers, the STO function can be activated individually for each axis. In addition, Safely Limited Speed (SLS) and Safe Speed Range (SSR) ensure that the projected speed limits are always adhered to. Safe Direction (SDI) monitors the direction of movement, while Safely Limited Increment (SLI) limits the step size and Safe Operating Stop (SOS) ensures a safe standstill.
