About us

Linear technology with enthusiasm and passion
HSB was founded in 1993 and has been a globally recognized specialist in the field of linear technology for many years. Our focus is on designing and producing high-quality mechanical linear units, linear tables, compact linear units, gantry linear units and handling systems, as well as innovative custom-made solutions for applications involving linear movement. We supply customers from various industrial sectors such as energy, medical and automotive technology, as well as mechanical and plant engineering. Development, production and sales are centralized under one roof in Reutlingen. Among our more than 80 employees a personal and family-like working atmosphere prevails. We value and encourage responsibility and independent work. As a committed specialist company, we train industrial mechanics.

Mechanical Linear Units HSB-beta®

Our HSB-beta® mechanical linear units are true classics in linear technology. First introduced in 1996, they have been continuously refined and expanded with additional sizes and configurations – forming the cornerstone of HSB Automation GmbH’s success. Each HSB-beta® linear unit is built around a specially developed aluminum profile, precisely engineered for its respective size and application. Today, the HSB-beta® series is available in 11 sizes, ranging from HSB-beta® 40 to HSB-beta® 180. To meet diverse practical requirements, we offer a variety of guide and drive options, ensuring the right configuration for virtually any application.

Ball Screws HSB-kgt®

Our ball screws HSB-kgt® are specifically optimized for handling and automation applications, with a clear focus on smooth running performance, high dynamics, long service life, and compact dimensions for easy integration. We combine precision-rolled ball screw spindles from renowned manufacturers – some produced exclusively to our specifications – with ball screw nuts manufactured in-house from premium materials in line with the latest production standards. A consistent design across each nominal diameter ensures maximum interchangeability and simplifies maintenance and replacement.

Portal Linear Units HSB-gamma®

Our HSB-gamma® portal linear units are the proven choice for building versatile multi-axis systems across a wide range of applications. Each HSB-gamma® unit is based on a closed, high-rigidity aluminum profile developed in-house. Equipped with powerful ball guide rails, they deliver high load capacity and reliable performance even under demanding conditions. All functional and mounting surfaces are precisely machined to ensure accurate integration and long-term stability. The HSB-gamma® series is available in five sizes, from HSB-gamma® 90 to HSB-gamma® 280. To meet practical application requirements, various drive options are available, allowing flexible configuration for different system concepts.

Portal Linear Units HSB-sigma®

Our HSB-sigma® portal linear units are the lighter and more streamlined alternative to the HSB-gamma® series – ideal for multi-axis systems where efficiency and reduced weight are key. Each HSB-sigma® unit is built around a closed, high-rigidity aluminum profile developed in-house and equipped with an integrated HSB roller guide. The optimized arrangement of the hardened guide strips allows the carriage to absorb forces almost equally from all directions, ensuring balanced performance and dependable stability. The HSB-sigma® series is available in four sizes, from HSB-sigma® 70 to HSB-sigma® 160. A range of drive options is offered to meet practical requirements and enable flexible system configurations.

Linear Tables HSB-alpha®

Our HSB-alpha® linear tables are the powerhouses of our linear modules, combining high load capacity with outstanding precision. Their robust mechanical design has proven itself in demanding applications for decades. Since 1999, they have been an integral part of our product portfolio. The HSB-alpha® series is currently available in four standard sizes, ranging from the HSB-alpha® 15-B-155 to the HSB-alpha® 35-B-455. In addition to these standard models, we offer a wide variety of customized versions to meet specific application requirements.

Compact Linear Units HSB-delta®

Our HSB-delta® compact linear units are the ideal solution for applications that require high rigidity and precise guidance in a compact design. At the core of every HSB-delta® unit is a wide, flat aluminum profile developed in-house. Depending on the size, it is equipped either with two parallel-mounted ball guide rails (HSB-delta® 110 to 240) or with a single HSB roller guide featuring an especially wide base for maximum stability. All profiles are precisely machined on the relevant mounting surfaces to ensure accurate integration of the linear guides. The HSB-delta® series is currently available in five sizes, from HSB-delta® 90 to HSB-delta® 240. To meet practical requirements across a wide range of applications, we also offer various guide and drive options for maximum flexibility.
